The tobacco trade itself has been supporting the Tobacco Trade Charity and has done so since the nineteenth century. The Tobacco Trade Charity is part of The Tobacco Pipe Makers and Tobacco Trade Benevolent Fund which was formed in 2010 through the merger of the Tobacco Livery Company’s Benevolent Fund and the Tobacco Trade Benevolent Association which was first established in 1860.
The Tobacco Trade Charity receives an annual donation from JTI, BAT and Imperial for it to use to support people who have previously worked in the tobacco trade and are experiencing financial hardship.
Only the generosity of companies and individuals makes it possible for the Tobacco Trade Charity to continue to give the help that is needed.
